MANAGEMENT TRAINEE PROGRAMMEThe Management Trainee Programme is a structured two-year intensive development programme designed to develop and supply the company with outstanding, high potential graduates who have the right skills andattitude to fast track to senior roles.The programme is rigorous and demanding, allowing only the high performers to proceed to managementpositions.Your selection for The Management Trainee Programme will involve anassessment of your leadership and managerial skills. Where necessary wewill support your development with further formal training. You will beprovided with opportunities to put these skills into practice, inpreparation for your move to a managerial role. You will be given theopportunity to select the function you are most interested in. TheChallenge Initiative will structure your development around a clearlydefined set of objectives. You will gain support and encouragement fromthree sources. Your coach, a manager who will work with you to ensurethat you are reaching the standards expected of you and you are gettingwhat you need from the programme. Your mentor, a manager from anotherfunction, sharing the benefit of their experience and supporting you inthe achievement of your personal objectives. Also, there will be othermanagement trainees around the world who will form an invaluable networkof contacts for you.
At the end of this period, having met the performance requirements, youwill be appointed to your first managerial role with British AmericanTobacco.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:Not more than 27 years old by end June 2008Successful completion of NYSC byJune 30th 2008Be comfortable working in an industry which can be seen as controversialExcellent academic performance and successful completion of relevantdegree. Minimum of 2.1Track record of outstanding extra-curricular achievement and leadershipskillInnovative and creativeInternationally mobileHas clear personal objectives and responsibility for self developmentFluent in English. French proficiency an added advantageStrong Numerical and Verbal comprehensionStrong oral and written communication skills Action oriented approach to work
